Using SportTracks on an Apple Computer, iPhone or iPad

Not sure if SportTracks is compatible with Macs? In short: it is.

You may be aware that SportTracks is a powerful yet easy-to-use tool for fitness tracking, planning and coaching, but you may not know that it can be used on nearly any computer or mobile device. The compatibility of SportTracks can be a little confusing, because the software is available in two different varieties. This post will explain it all.

The primary way that athletes use our product is with SportTracks.mobi, the web-based version of our software. Because you access it on the web means that you can use it on both Mac and Windows computers, as well as both Apple iOS devices (iPhones and iPads) and Android smartphones and tablets.

You can access SportTracks.mobi from anyone’s computer or device. You don’t need to download any mobile apps, you simply log into your account on the web and start analyzing and planning your workouts. It’s fast, easy, and ultra-flexible. There is no PC vs. Mac debate here, SportTracks.mobi works equally well for everyone.

If you were wondering if SportTracks was compatible with Macs, there you have it. The answer is yes. SportTracks.mobi works across all platforms.

Now, if you’ve done some research online, there’s a chance you could have read about the older, Windows-only version of SportTracks, which is called ST3. This is a traditional computer program that you load onto the hard drive of a specific computer, and you can only access it from that specific computer. It can’t be used on mobile phones, or on Apple or Android tablets.

ST3 only works on Windows computers, but you can run it on a Mac using a third-party application called Parallels. You can read a review of what it’s like to use ST3 on a Mac running Parallels in this post.

SportTracks.mobi and ST3 share a lot of the same core functionality, as far as fitness tracking and workout analysis are concerned. Obviously, they’re vastly different in terms of flexibility and compatibility.

Another aspect that makes them different is that ST3 has the ability to run third-party plug-ins. This can increase the usefulness of the program in specific areas, if desired. It should be noted that the functionality of the most popular ST3 plug-ins are incorporated into SportTracks.mobi, and that new features are actively being developed and introduced all the time.

The purpose of this post was to simply clarify that SportTracks.mobi can indeed be used on both Apple computers, and iOS devices. If this was something you were unsure about, now you know.
